VNISA holds annual meeting in 2024
On the morning of March 9th 2024, the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA) held the 2024 annual meeting.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of leaders from state management agencies and organizations accompanied with the Association until the present time, which included: the Authority of Information Security and National Electronic Authentication Center (Ministry of Information and Communications); Government Cipher Committee; Command 86 (Ministry of National Defense); Department of Cyber Security, High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control (Ministry of Public Security); some units affiliated with the Ministry of Education and Training; Department of Children (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs); Vietnam Internet Association….
On VNISA side, attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Chairman of VNISA, former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, as well as many individuals of the Executive Committee and members of the Association.

In his opening speech, VNISA Chairman Nguyen Thanh Hung stated during the previous year, despite overcoming many domestic difficulties, VNISA still achieved extremely positive results, which focused: Train and develop human resources on information security; raise awareness of information security for the community; support market development for information security products and services; expand international cooperation, which contribute to the development of state policies in the field of information security and strengthen the connection between Association members and partners. In addition, the Association had had many meaningful activities to contribute to protecting children in the online environment and promoting the learning movement of students in the field of information security.
In 2024, the National Digital Transformation Program will continue to be promoted along with the implementation of the National Cyber Safety and Security Strategy, which proactively respond to challenges from cyberspace until 2025, and the 2030 vision with focus on protecting people in cyberspace and promoting the creation and safe exploitation of digital data to serve digital government and digital citizens… All of that requires the participation and responsibility of the Information Security industry. “In that context, along with maintaining annual activities that have promoted positive results over the past years, the Association needs to have constant creativity and innovation to meet practical needs”, said VNISA Chairman.

Presenting the results of the Association’s 2023 activities, Mr. Vu Quoc Thanh, Vice President and General Secretary of VNISA, emphasized: “In 2023, VNISA successfully completed the work contents set out for the year. In particular, the Association successfully organized a series of activities related to the 2023 Information Security Day with an improvement in quality and scale compared to previous years. Also, with the expansion of activity content, VNISA also developed many new domestic and foreign partners, and the Association’s international cooperation relations were promoted to a new step”.
In 2024, the Association will continue to implement activities according to the principles, goals and Resolutions of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, while promoting solutions to develop members, which focus on the following contents: Participate in contributing opinions to developing draft legal documents on information security; organize a series of activities related to the 2024 Information Security Day; train and certify a number of information security training topics; promote cooperation with international organizations in the field of information security …
At the meeting, members shared, discussed and contributed many opinions and recommendations about the role in new trends as well as VNISA’s operational plan in 2024.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Mr.Nguyen Huy Dung spoke at the meeting
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung expressed his joy and appreciation for the positive development in the number of VNISA members. Mr. Dung congratulated the Association’s Leadership Board and members who had made many contributions and achieved high results in recent years. He also emphasized the focus in the coming time had to be strengthening the work of protecting safety and security in cyberspace, protecting civil relations in cyberspace, and protecting the safety of agencies, organizations and businesses, while promoting socio-economic development.
In addition to ensuring safety and security for activities in cyberspace, it is also necessary to increase trust in cyberspace for users, especially the issue of digital infrastructure safety and telecommunications network infrastructure security when IoT devices connect to 5G and 6G networks to share data. This is also considered a key trend of network safety and security in the near future. Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung hoped VNISA will be a pioneer in researching new technology trends, when the dramatic increase in the development of computing power, especially quantum computing, would break many traditional limits. That would lead Vietnamese organizations, businesses, and communities to have the best preparation for ensuring network safety and security.
Also at the meeting, VNISA praised and rewarded units with outstanding contributions to the Association’s activities in 2023 and awarded Certificates to new members.
